It’s a Baby Girl!

Sisters 🙂

Apparently, I only get the itch to blog when I’m talking about babies! My last post was nearly a year ago and about my cousin’s baby boy. We have had a busy year and I plan on keeping up better on here with our goings-on. I’m sure my parents would like me to continue. 😉 Today, I am excited to share the news that I am going to be an Aunt! My little niece will be here before we know it and I cannot wait to spoil her rotten. That’s what Aunts are for, right?

A couple of weeks ago we had a shower for my sister-in-law to celebrate the little one and it was such a blessed time with friends and family. I was in charge  of the decorations and in my typical fashion, it took forever and a day to get them done. Out of necessity, I started planning and working on everything back in January. (It can be difficult to fit time in for crafting! ) I put my Cricut Expression to work using several cartridges, including Flower Shoppe, Baby Shower and the butterfly from Cake Seasonal Sampler.  Several of the decor items will also be used in Baby’s nursery and I used colors that went with the crib bedding.  Having two boys, I REALLY enjoyed making all the girly flowers and butterflies.

We are thrilled to see our family grow and I know my Brother and Sister-in-law will be wonderful parents. Baby Girl is already loved so much and as the Psalmist wrote “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” Psalms 127:3 (NLT)

Its a Baby Boy…

Scrapbook. Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Of course, working on this cute little scrapbook makes me long for another little one, and no doubt I would have another precious baby boy.  😉  I wanted to share my latest project, a gift for my cousin that is due with her first baby soon.  Continue reading »

A New Creation

We have been so busy since I last shared here and with subsequent posts I plan on catching up a bit on our recent goings-ons.  😉 In fact, with my “busyness” I failed to realize until today that Mother’s Day is THIS Sunday, as in three days from now. A few weeks back I pinned a cute idea on Pinterest for Mother’s Day cards. I hate it when I’m prepared, yet unprepared at the same time! Unfortunately, it seems to happen quite often. Hopefully, the grandmothers will forgive us when they receive these cute cards in the mail a day or so late. Continue reading »

Lego Heads

This past Christmas Legos invaded our home. Both boys enjoy playing with Legos and knowing their Daddy and Uncle’s enthusiasm for them, I guess they will never stop thinking little plastic bricks are pretty darn cool.  Junior delights in  the building process and JD does what three year olds do best – he’s an expert demolisher. We Fit Right In

Last week my Mother-in-law came down for a week-long visit. While she was here it was almost like a “stay-cation” for the boys and me. One of the best parts of homeschooling is being able to take time off from our usual studies and have mid-week field trips! 🙂 Unfortunately, this is my husband’s busy time at work so he missed out on a lot of the fun. We had a lovely day at the beach, shopping, a bowling outing and probably one of the most enjoyable days was spent at the Jacksonville Zoo. Continue reading »

Feeding the Hungry

Meet Henry.

Henry is hungry.

 Henry

The last several days have been dreary and chilly. The boys and I had barely stepped outdoors and we were all going just a little bit stir crazy. To combat impending craziness, (one of us was oh so close to being there!) we decided to do something worthwhile and feed our hungry neighbors. Aren’t they lovely? Continue reading »

Christmas in September

About a month ago, I was talking with the grandparents about Christmas ideas for the boys. After two major moves in the last year we have cleared out and given away A LOT of outgrown and unused toys. Presently the boys share a room and we have limited storage space as well. We came up with the idea of new bedroom furniture for the boys’ Christmas.  All the grandparents chipped in and we were able to order these awesome captain’s beds and this gorgeous bedding.  Christmas came a little early this year and we are so thankful for generous grandparents! My Baby is Three!

“They say I’m old-fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast!”  ―   Dr. Seuss

I cannot tell you where the last few weeks have gone…  Between lots of family visits, homeschooling, and my not so itty bitty (37.5 lb!) baby boy turning three years old this month, we have been keeping busy! With every birthday that passes, I am reminded again how incredibly blessed we are and so thankful for our two boys. Continue reading »

First Week Success

“Mommy, we forgot to do school today!”,  Junior worriedly told me when he got home today from fishing with Daddy. Well, I guess you could say we had a successful first week, if he is wanting to continue with his studies on Saturday!

We DID have a good first week of first grade. We jumped right in with both feet. The great thing about using Georgia Cyber Academy, is that we have the flexibility to complete lessons on the weekend if we choose to. Although fishing is a great learning experience as well! Continue reading »
