It’s a Baby Girl!

Sisters <3

Sisters 🙂

Apparently, I only get the itch to blog when I’m talking about babies! My last post was nearly a year ago and about my cousin’s baby boy. We have had a busy year and I plan on keeping up better on here with our goings-on. I’m sure my parents would like me to continue. 😉 Today, I am excited to share the news that I am going to be an Aunt! My little niece will be here before we know it and I cannot wait to spoil her rotten. That’s what Aunts are for, right?

A couple of weeks ago we had a shower for my sister-in-law to celebrate the little one and it was such a blessed time with friends and family. I was in charge  of the decorations and in my typical fashion, it took forever and a day to get them done. Out of necessity, I started planning and working on everything back in January. (It can be difficult to fit time in for crafting! ) I put my Cricut Expression to work using several cartridges, including Flower Shoppe, Baby Shower and the butterfly from Cake Seasonal Sampler.  Several of the decor items will also be used in Baby’s nursery and I used colors that went with the crib bedding.  Having two boys, I REALLY enjoyed making all the girly flowers and butterflies.

We are thrilled to see our family grow and I know my Brother and Sister-in-law will be wonderful parents. Baby Girl is already loved so much and as the Psalmist wrote “Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from Him.” Psalms 127:3 (NLT)

Its a Baby Boy…

Scrapbook. Sorry, I couldn’t resist. Of course, working on this cute little scrapbook makes me long for another little one, and no doubt I would have another precious baby boy.  😉  I wanted to share my latest project, a gift for my cousin that is due with her first baby soon.  Continue reading »

Encouragement

A Peaceful Evening

Lately, my faith has been tested.   In fact, I would say that my faith is tested on a daily basis! If it weren’t, I would question whether what I believed was even real or true. There have been circumstances with my family’s health, finances and even work situations that have discouraged and disappointed me, many times over. Continue reading »

Beef. It’s What’s For Dinner

Last Week.

Last night, we had pork chops.  Tonight, I’m not sure yet. 🙂

I wanted to share this easy recipe I prepared the other night. For us, it was a little change from the usual ground beef fixin’s and you can certainly tailor it to suit your mood and family very easily.  I love the fact that its all done in one pan, and I used my trusty ol’ black iron skillet. The inspiration for our dinner can be found here by Martha Stewart. At times I’ve found her  recipes overly complicated, but at least I know they’ve been tested and are probably delicious. My version is perhaps even simpler than the original recipe.  My mother-in-law gave me a copy of her new All-American  cookbook and the recipes seem to be easy to follow and yummy as well.  I’m looking forward to adding some new meals to our usual repertoire. A New Creation

We have been so busy since I last shared here and with subsequent posts I plan on catching up a bit on our recent goings-ons.  😉 In fact, with my “busyness” I failed to realize until today that Mother’s Day is THIS Sunday, as in three days from now. A few weeks back I pinned a cute idea on Pinterest for Mother’s Day cards. I hate it when I’m prepared, yet unprepared at the same time! Unfortunately, it seems to happen quite often. Hopefully, the grandmothers will forgive us when they receive these cute cards in the mail a day or so late. Continue reading »

Springtime Crafting

Crafting is one of my favorite hobbies and its even more enjoyable on a rainy Saturday evening when my boys are watching March Madness. (Sidenote: college football begins in 157 days… 🙂 )

It’s a week before Easter and I decided to make some decorations. Continue reading »

A little gravy…

Well, it’s been about three weeks since my last post and obviously there have  been A LOT of changes for our little family in that time. That last week in the old apartment, I was not motivated to cook or clean! For someone who vacuums religiously everyday, it was quite the departure from my normal routine. Continue reading »

Lego Heads

This past Christmas Legos invaded our home. Both boys enjoy playing with Legos and knowing their Daddy and Uncle’s enthusiasm for them, I guess they will never stop thinking little plastic bricks are pretty darn cool.  Junior delights in  the building process and JD does what three year olds do best – he’s an expert demolisher. Morning Reflections

Morning Reflection

This morning I woke up before 5 AM. Anyone that knows this family, KNOWS we are not exceptionally early risers. However, I couldn’t get back to sleep and besides thinking about the laundry I needed to get caught up on, I began to think about my friends. Even more specifically, thanking God for my friends and loved ones. Continue reading »
