I love Pandora radio… when I get a hankerin’ to hear some Christmas music, it’s only a click away. At the moment I’m enjoying Lady Antebellum’s Holiday station.  I know it’s only August and according to my Christmas countdown app on the Ipad, I still have 136 days, 9 hours, 11 minutes and 52 seconds until that special day. As much as I look forward to celebrating the blessed day, the anticipation and preparation holds just about as much joy for me. I think I may drive my husband a little bit crazy with my Christmas obsession, but in my defense there are A LOT of worse things that I could be obsessed about…

So, this past week I have been busy crafting Christmas ornaments! I came across a box of crafting supplies hiding under the bed and I decided to get creative! I’ve also found an outlet for my crafting habit and that was to open a shop on Etsy. My shop can be found here http://www.etsy.com/shop/DixieLivinChristmas .  My husband is very supportive of this new venture (even though it involves a Christmas workshop on the kitchen counter!) as it would be wonderful if I were able to pull in a little revenue from something that I really do enjoy. We have made a lot of sacrifices so that I can stay at home with our kids and if I were to earn some income from home it would be a real blessing. By starting this now, in August, I’m hoping to keep adding to the shop and have a nice inventory by the time people are actually shopping for Christmas decorations. I also plan on sharing my ideas for decorating and crafting techniques here at Dixie Livin’ as we get closer to the holidays.
